Texas Denture Dentists

Providing Strickland Facelift Dentures™

Texas Denture DentistsAs denture demand has increased across the US, many economy denture dentists have appeared to attempt to exploit people, offering seemingly great prices for poor quality dentures. If you have tried these dentures, you know the problems that come with them: discomfort, tendency to slip, and poor function in talking and eating. And then there’s the way they look. They aren’t attractive themselves, and they don’t help your face to look attractive, either. They can make your face look saggy and collapsed inward. For some people, having a “denture face” might be okay, but many of us are just not prepared to look that old yet.

And it’s not just economy denture dentists that have this problem. Many denture dentists have been poorly trained using an ineffective system for sizing and fitting dentures. But there is a better way to make dentures, and Strickland Facelift Dentures™ dentists know that way.

Texas Denture Dentists with a Better Approach

Strickland Facelift Dentures™ represent a major advance in how denture dentists approach the design, manufacture, and fit of dentures. In fact, we often use your old dentures as a model for what not to do, because they’re usually designed to just sit in your mouth.

Our Texas denture dentists know that your mouth is a dynamic system and that any successful denture will be designed to move. Your dentures have to help you with all the complex tasks your mouth performs, including chewing, talking, assisting balance, and, of course, smiling.

And not only do Strickland Facelift Dentures™ make your smile better, they will make it more frequent, as you enjoy the benefits they offer, such as:

  • Younger appearance because of:
    • Reduced facial folds
    • Diminished jowls
    • Less excess skin in the chin and neck
  • Better fit
  • Increased comfort—we eliminate pinch points that cause pain when you wear dentures or eat with them
  • Better function
  • More support
  • Less risk of excessive jawbone loss

How are our Texas denture dentists able to accomplish what others cannot? Strickland Facelift Dentures™ use a scientific approach based on neuromuscular dentistry.

Benefits of Neuromuscular Dentistry

Neuromuscular dentistry looks at your mouth as a complex, interconnected system of muscles, teeth, bones, nerves, and other tissues. The only way this system can work properly is if all parts of the system work together.

When dentures are used in your mouth, they also have to work as part of this system. They have to be designed with the motion of your mouth and the action of its muscles factored in. Another effect of neuromuscular dentistry is designing your dentures to the ideal proportions of your face, as established by your muscles and other tissues.

When we were young, our teeth, muscles, skin, and other tissues developed together. Over time, our teeth wore down, and most dentures are made to replicate the size and shape of these worn down teeth, but Strickland Facelift Dentures™ are designed to the original proportions of your face, and can help you to look years younger.

Northeast Texas Denture Dentists

Northeast Texas, also known as Upper East Texas is wetter, hillier, and more forested than most of the rest of Texas, and in some ways it has more cultural similarity to Arkansas and Louisiana than to other parts of Texas. This part of Texas also has an older population than other parts of Texas. While about 10% of the state’s population is over the age of 65, that proportion is about 15% in Northeast Texas. Centered around some moderately-sized metropolitan areas, such Tyler and Longview/Marshall, the region is nonetheless more rural, with 54% of residents living in rural areas, compared to only 13% of Texas as a whole.

Southeast Texas Denture Dentists

Like Northeast Texas, Southeast Texas has close cultural ties to Arkansas and Louisiana, though perhaps with closer ties to Louisiana Cajun culture. It also has an elevated proportion of people over the age of 65, about 13% of the population. With larger metropolitan areas, such as Houston—with major suburbs Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and Baytown this represents the fifth largest metropolitan area in the US—and Beaumont-Port Arthur, Southeast Texas has a higher proportion of urban population.

South Texas Denture Dentists

South Texas, sometimes called South Central Texas, is a region strongly influenced by its long border with Mexico. The area has a much larger Hispanic population than the rest of the state, and has a lower median income than the rest of the state. The region’s largest city is San Antonio, with Corpus Christi and Laredo as additional communities of substantial size in this region. Overall, the proportion of people in this region over the age of 65 is slightly larger than the state as a whole, about 11%.

    North Texas Denture Dentists

North Texas, also called North Central Texas or sometimes Nortex, includes many rural counties, but is heavily centered on the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, which is the largest metropolitan area in Texas, and the fourth largest in the US. At less than 9%, this region has a significantly lower proportion of the population over the age of 65 than other parts of Texas.

    West Texas Denture Dentists

West Texas is sometimes divided into the Panhandle, which comprises a rectangle of counties surrounded on three sides by Oklahoma and New Mexico, and West Texas, which composes the rest of the western part of the state, although it is often dealt with as a whole. West Texas is largely rural, although El Paso, Lubbock, and Amarillo are the largest urban areas in the region. This region has a proportion of people over age 65 that is higher than the state as a whole, about 13%.
